Answers below reflect the ConvoCopilot mobile app today: phrase library, flashcards, AI practice, live conversation modes, subscriptions, and privacy.
What is ConvoCopilot?
ConvoCopilot is a language copilot for iOS and Android. Build a personal phrase library, practice listening and speaking with flashcards and AI-guided practice, take a language level assessment, and when you need it, use live translation and reply help in dual view, multi-device, or listening mode.
What can I practice in the app?
You can save and organize your own phrases, play them with text-to-speech, and drill with flashcards in both directions (for example, hear the phrase and recall the meaning, or read the meaning and say the phrase aloud). AI practice simulates conversation with feedback, and the language level assessment helps you benchmark skills over time.
What are dual view, multi-device, and listening mode?
Dual view is for one phone between you in a face-to-face conversation: each person reads their side from opposite ends of the device. Multi-device connects separate phones in the same live session with up to 5 participants including the host. Listening mode focuses on one-way understanding when you mostly need to follow what is being said.
What is realtime audio in dual view?
With the default setting, your speech is transcribed through your session after you finish each phrase. Realtime mode streams audio while you speak so text can appear as you go. ACUs (AI compute units) are spent faster in realtime mode than in the default setting.
Which languages are supported?
ConvoCopilot supports many languages—typically 30 or more for practice, translation, and TTS, depending on provider and device availability. Choose your languages in the app settings.
Where is my conversation history stored?
On mobile, your conversation history for browsing and search is stored locally on your device. Depending on your speech-to-text settings, audio may be transcribed on-device, sent through your session for server transcription, or sent to Soniox’s cloud; we do not retain raw STT audio as a permanent archive. For AI practice, encoded turn audio may be held briefly on our servers until that turn's feedback completes (see the Privacy Policy). Message text for your live session is also held temporarily on our servers while the session is active and for a short period after everyone disconnects, then removed automatically. We do not use your conversations to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.
What are ACUs and how do plans work?
AI-powered features use a monthly ACU (AI compute units) budget. Every subscription tier includes the full app; Free, Plus, and Pro differ by the monthly ACU allowance. At the beginning of each month, your included ACU resets to that allowance; unused included ACU does not roll over to the next month. In the app you can also buy one-time bonus ACU packs: bonus ACU does not expire and is used after your monthly budget runs out. The app shows usage so you can see how your budget is spent.
How do I cancel, upgrade, or get a refund?
Purchases run through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Manage renewal, cancellation, and refunds in that store’s subscription settings. ConvoCopilot cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.
How do I delete my account?
Why does the app ask for the microphone?
Microphone access powers speech recognition, recording, and live conversation features. If you previously denied access, you can enable it again in your device settings for ConvoCopilot.
Why do built-in voices sound different on iPhone?
